Last year, Sport Vlaanderen and the city of Leuven launched ‘Smart Sporting Cities’, a pilot project to map the sports and exercise behavior of the people of Leuven in public spaces using smart technology. This data can then be used to collect insights from an increasingly larger group of independent athletes who play sports outside of a club and be used to support policy making. Thus, encouraging even more residents to participate in sports and exercise.
We’ll be working together with Cronos Public Services NVAptus and Edgise to ensure everything goes as smooth and (data)safe as possible!
